Senior Strategist

CJ’s been building relationships to generate business in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors for nearly 15 years. He specializes in major giving strategies, nonprofit management, and strategic planning.

In addition to working with GKollaborative, CJ is a Vice President at Teach For America, where he leads a group of development partners and coaches, a cadre of eight development professionals who act as internal consultants support fundraising learning and improvement.

CJ has a diversity of experience in the nonprofit sector and has previously served as the Executive Director at SAVE Dade, Miami-Dade’s largest LGBT advocacy organization, Director of Development for Hands On Miami, a civic engagement organization, and Executive Director of the CUNY School of Law Foundation, the country’s premier public interest law school. One of CJ’s proudest moments was in 2012, where he led a grassroots organizing campaign to elect Florida’s first openly gay state lawmaker, David Richardson, to the Florida House of Representatives.

CJ is a graduate of Florida International University, and now lives with his wife Charlene, and their daughter Amalia in New York City.
